BIANCO SU BIANCO
Compagnia Finzi Pasca
This delicate, intense show was born of the desire of the Swiss-based Compagnia Finzi Pasca, the main creators of two Olympic ceremonies, to return to an artistically intimate dimension of retreat. Bianco su Bianco tells the story of Ruggero and Elena, of his difficult childhood, of the strength of the friendship that enables him to weather the storm, and of the love, a bond as magical as it is mysterious, which keeps both of them going as they scale one of the highest mountains.
The show's two performers/actors/acrobats/clowns strike up an exchange with a sophisticated, intriguing universe made of sounds and lights: technology developed for the great Forest of Light in Sochi’s Olympic Stadium and resized for use in the theatre, which becomes an intangible performer in the show. Each of the over three hundred bulbs has a life of its own and together they can breathe, dance and throb, amplifying the performers’ emotions and immersing the audience in wondrous places from the social imaginary.
The story of this entertaining, fantastic and slightly surreal couple plays out to delicate, crystalline music.
