Quique González. Sur en el valle

Quique González presents his new album Sur en el valle at the Veranos de la Villa festival. The album’s title is inspired by the infamous wind that sweeps across the Cantabrian coast, a wind that is associated with all kinds of legends, harbinger of unusual events and behaviour. There’s always room for the unexpected when the South wind blows, a halo of mystery that also extends to certain passages in this collection of songs.

Sur en el valle is the thirteenth album that Quique González has released in the more than two decades that have gone by since he kicked off this recording career. Two decades, during which the artist from Madrid has crafted a unique repertoire with the dedication and affection of an artisan. Respected by critics and public alike - few artists have such a loyal fanbase - Quique is now returning with a new batch of songs under his arm, songs he’s cooked over a slow fire in the Valles Pasiegos.
